Peace is the everlasting factor for the prosperity of humanity the world over. War plunders, explodes and razes and hence it is short-lived and temporary.

Whereas the creative jobs done during peace have become milestones through ages. Construction of bridges, railways, dams, villages, cities, temples and works of arts become in due course of time the foundation stone of man's longing for a better tomorrow and a bright future.

AMAR SHILPI is a story woven round the peace and the art that flourished in South India, which is the birth place of sculptures, temples and vivid pieces of art.

Jakkanna was a Great Sculptor by birth and his sculptures were admired by one and all. Manjari, a pretty dancer fell in love with Jakkanna and they married hurriedly without the consent of former's mother. The king Goolideva, who had an eye for Manjari got wild and threatened Manjari with dire consequences if she didn't dance in his palace. Manjari had no other alternative. When Jakkanna saw his wife dancing before the king, he left the country fully disgusted suspecting his wife's mortality.

Manjari jumped in a river to save her skin and was washed away.

Meanwhile JaKkanna went mad and he started roaming from one place to another.

The profound teacher of religion Shree Ramanujachari came across Jakkanna and taught him the secret of being a human being. Jakkanna was appointed as the Main Sculptor at Raja Bittideva's palace and was asked to build a temple in Belur.
